K Vintners
2010 "The Beautiful Syrah"
95% Syrah co-fermented with 5% Viognier, K Vintners' 2010 "Beautiful" Syrah Walla Walla Valley has beauty and brains. It leads with an inviting perfume of red and black fruits lifted by spicy, floral notes and hints of smoke, but there's a lot going on on the palate too. It's intense and lush, with incredible concentration and density. Minerals and sweet tobacco notes accent layers of fruit and exotic spice on the finish. A "beautiful" rendition of classic of Walla Walla Syrah.

2009 "Ovide"
There were only 217 cases of Ovide produced from the Cabernet and Syrah grown at the biodynamically farmed En Cerise vineyards in Walla Walla Valley. Named for Charles' father, Robert Ovide, the 2009 is earthy, with dried lavender, rosemary and olive aromas and flavors to complement the gamey, peppery, black fruited palate. Fascinating and full.

2002 Robert Mondavi
Napa Reserve Cabernet
Bright ruby. Deep, sappy aromas of blackcurrant, licorice, graphite, sassafras and espresso. Fat, rich and broad, with layered flavors of cassis, mocha and sexy oak. Offers an impressive combination of fullness and vibrancy. Finishes very long and fine, with cassis, mineral and sweet oak notes. I suspect this wine will develop in a more interesting way than many 2002s with even higher alcohol and lower acidity.

2007 Beringer Napa Valley
Private Reserve Cabernet
97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"One of the finest Private Reserves made over the last two decades, this phenomenal wine is obviously still an infant in terms of development, but it exhibits a dense purple color as well as an extraordinary nose of blackberries, white chocolate, licorice, tobacco leaf, smoky barbecue, charcoal and a burning ember-like note reminiscent of a Graves from Bordeaux. A dense, luscious, full-bodied, opulent style, with sweet tannin, this locked and loaded, intense, full throttle Private Reserve should be accessible in 5-6 years and last for 25-30." - Robert Parker

2008 Viader Napa Valley Red
Good full red. Enticing, complex nose combines aromas of cherry, raspberry, violet, minerals, coffee and spices. Broad, lush and smooth, with pretty floral lift to the red fruit and spice flavors. Nicely delineated in the middle palate and long on the back end, where the ripe tannins coat the teeth. The crop level here was reduced by a bad flowering, said Alan Viader, but the loose clusters were an advantage later in the season. The harvest was ultimately very early. - Stephen Tanzer
(69% cabernet sauvignon and 31% cabernet franc)

2008 Continuum
Napa Valley Red
The 2008 Continuum is wonderfully balanced and deeply sensual wine; we believe it is the finest wine we have ever made. The majority of the fruit, more than 70%, is from our Pritchard Hill estate vineyards and these higher elevation sites with their red rocky soils grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot and Merlot with real nerve, vitality and concentration. In general, the 2008 lots, especially those from Pritchard Hill had a wild, mineral power and texture which is readily apparent in the finished wine. The 2008 has great density and life; a powerful core of ripe fruit perfectly balanced by polished, supple tannins leading to a long, nuanced finish. Aromas of black plum, mulberry, and coffee spice lead to black cherry, bitter chocolate, tobacco and graphite flavors. A wine of exquisite power and elegance, its inherent harmony and balance make it delicious now, while assuring tremendous ageabilty.

2009 Plumpjack
Oakville Cabernet
Winemaker's notes:
The 2009 PlumpJack Estate Cabernet is a testament to the impressive terrior of our estate vineyard. While many fought the inclement weather our estate vineyard on the eastern side of Oakville was bathed in sunlight. Classic PlumpJack aromas of black cherry, blackberry, sage, iron filings and anise are followed on the palate with primary flavors of Bing cherry, blackberry, mocha and hints of vanilla.
